This book stems from my blog irishlighthouses.blogspot.com. It tells the human story of tragic Irish lightkeeping events down the years, many long-forgotten or only vaguely remembered.

Arranged chronologically, the book forms a history of sorts of the lightkeeping profession.

It also sheds a light on some of the less well-known lighthouses around the country, some of them no longer with us.

There are two versions of this book, a colour version and a black-and-white. The text is the same in each. Only the photographs differ.
